Learn how AI tools describe and recommend local businesses, identify gaps in your online presence, and make simple, practical improvements
AI is changing how customers find and choose local businesses. Instead of only searching online and scrolling through results, people are increasingly asking AI assistants who they should call, where they should go, or which business they should choose.
In this session, we look at real Kingston businesses and explore how AI tools are describing and recommending them.
You’ll learn:
- What information these tools may be drawing from,
- Where gaps or inaccuracies can appear
- What practical changes you can make to your website and online presence to strengthen how your business shows up in AI-generated results.
How the session works:
- ~25 minutes of practical teaching
- ~25 minutes of hands-on building
- ~10 minutes for questions
- Bring a laptop or phone, your business name and website, 2 or 3 questions a customer might ask to find a business like yours (for example “best bakery in Kingston”), and the names of 1 or 2 competitors.
- No prior AI or automation experience required
- Free tools will be used, with paid options discussed
You’ll leave with a method for checking how AI describes your business and a prioritized list of practical fixes you can start making right away.
