Shifting to Sustainable Small Business Practices

April 18 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

With Earth Day 2024 just around the corner, many small business owners are thinking more seriously about sustainability — but many still struggle to understand the simple steps they can take to move forward.

If you’re looking for more clarity on how to create more sustainable practices in your small business, join us for a 90-minute session with special guest Ange Defosse, owner of Harlowe Green in downtown Kingston.

In this online workshop, you’ll be invited to view your small business operations through a sustainable lens to understand both your impact on the environment and the next steps you can take.

You’ll leave this workshop with an understanding of how to create more sustainble business practices in a scrappy, low-cost way that makes most sense for you, and look at things from a process view to potentially solve more than just your waste and impact issues.

We’ll also talk about a number of businesses that have shifted their waste practices and procurement strategies to partner differently — and how they’re communicating those shifts to their customers and clients.

At the end of this online session, you will leave with:

  • An understanding of how to consider your options with a sustainable mindset
  • Ideas for shifting processes within your small business operations
  • Ideas for building local partnerships and solving waste issues
  • Strategies for communicating with your clients in a non-cringy way
  • Ways to connect further to design solutions for your business

There will also be time for a Q&A at the end of the session.
