Free workshop series offers guidance from idea to market for food and beverage entrepreneurs
Kingston, Ontario – January 13, 2026 – Kingston Economic Development Corporation is partnering with the London Small Business Enterprise Centre to bring the Foodpreneur Advantage Program to Kingston and Area food and beverage entrepreneurs. The comprehensive workshop series, beginning January 15, 2026, provides aspiring and established food business owners with the specialized knowledge needed to navigate the unique challenges of starting or expanding a food manufacturing business.
The Foodpreneur Advantage Program is designed for individuals looking to start or expand a food or beverage manufacturing business producing consumer packaged goods. The six-part virtual workshop series will cover essential topics from regulatory compliance to getting products onto store shelves, with sessions held weekly on Thursdays at 10:00 am.
All sessions are virtual, one hour in length, and free to attend. Participants must register for each session individually.
“Through our work with entrepreneurs across the city and in the rural area, we consistently see the need for specialized support in the food and beverage sector,” said Rob Tamblyn, Business Development Manager, Small & Medium Enterprises at Kingston Economic Development. “The Foodpreneur Advantage series addresses this gap by covering the fundamentals every food entrepreneur needs to understand, from ensuring regulatory compliance to developing effective go-to-market strategies. This program takes entrepreneurs from initial concept through to getting their products on shelves.”
The Foodpreneur Advantage Program will be offered quarterly throughout 2026, with additional sessions scheduled in April, August, and November. Participants will also have access to complimentary one-on-one business advisory services and connections to additional Kingston Economic Development resources and programs.
