With a growing number of small businesses looking to trade on an international level, the Government of Ontario supports the New Exporters to Border States (NEBS) program, a cross-border program designed to help Ontario businesses get their goods and services across the border. This program is intended to show small businesses what they should and should not do to begin growing into the US market. With expert advice that can save small business owners hours, days, weeks, or even months of hassle, this session is aimed to aid entrepreneurs exploring this growth opportunity by showing the right steps from the start. Advice about how to prepare for US market entry will be addressed. By the end of this session, Ontario small businesses interested in entering and/or expanding their current business into the US market will have a practical guide on how to start today.
The webinar will be of particular interest to all companies planning to enter or grow their actual business in the US.

Speaker Bio:
Rafael Vargas is a Senior Export Advisor in the Marketing and Stakeholder Engagement Branch of the Ontario’s Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade. He delivers a variety of programs, including the New Exporting to Border States (NEBS) and New Exporters of Technology and Services to the U.S (NETSUS), to help companies understand how to export to the United States, as well as providing one-on-one export advisory services to help companies develop market entry strategies and export plans for international markets. Vargas is a seasoned seasoned international business professional who brings over 20 years of experience in trade and international business, including organizing high-level government trade missions to Canada and abroad, identifying strategic business opportunities, and delivering exporter training programs.
Kelly Carr is an immigration attorney and partner at Fiegel, Carr & Joyce Law Firm. Carr has been active in the immigration field since 2010. As a law student, she served as a Law Clerk for the University at Buffalo’s immigration attorney. During this time, Carr prepared over one hundred H-1B petitions and helped secure Green Cards for many Professors and Researchers. She has exclusively practiced immigration law since her admission to the New York State bar. Carr’s current practice is focused on securing business visas, including H-1B, L-1 and TNs.
Grace Huff is a certified public accountant based in East Amherst, New York. She possesses extensive expertise in handling intricate tax matters such as corporate structuring, reorganizations, state filing obligations, and state tax credit assessments. Huff holds a valid license to practice in the state of New York and serves clients across various sectors, including private industry, education, and government.
